Mimicking Life

141112BThe last couple of months have been very busy so, as usual, I have been negligent in my updates. On a job last month, I noticed the production assistant using her iPhone to photograph some small yellow berries/fruit of a small plant against the corner of this green-painted wall. I saw a different composition, with the angled branches of the plant against the squared frame of the wall. Since I had been shooting some environmental portraits, one of my cameras was equipped with a short telephoto prime lens that allowed me to isolate the subject with a limited focus.
I try to be aware of everything in the composition when I take a photograph. But, there are always some things I miss. In this case, I didn’t notice that the cracks in the concrete and paint in the wall mimicked the shape of the plant until I returned home and processed the image on a large screen.
