Flowers and Fabric

One of my regular clients has an exhibition of dried flower arrangements every autumn. Each year, she chooses a different material to incorporate in her creations: paper, brick, iron, bamboo, etc. This year, celebrating her tenth exhibition, she has chosen fabric as the main material. The results promise to be quite colorful.
To promote the upcoming exhibition, and prepare for a brochure highlighting past exhibitions, I photographed this simple arrangement in her studio last week. I find that flowers often show best when backlit, but after experimenting with the light for this shot, I chose to light from a low angle from behind the camera.Hattori01
