Garden Lamp

While in a beautiful 80-year-old Japanese residence to photograph some ikebana arrangements for one of my many flower clients, I noticed a lamp hanging from the eaves on a corner overlooking the garden. In the background were some Japanese maples in their characteristic autumn color. I wanted to photograph it, but the situation did not permit. A week later, I was there again, and was happy to find there was still some color in the trees. To frame the lamp with the tree leaves, I used a long lens. Since I could not get close to the lamp, I thought that it was made from cast metal. I was a little surprised, after I processed the images, to see that the lamp was made of wood.
